Our Plot;
We start off with a birds-eye-view shot of Amy sat on a chair waiting outside the consultants room, with close ups and jump cuts of her hands twitching and fiddling nervously with her rings, then we have a mid shot as she gets up and walks in the door, with a close up of her hand on the handle and opening the door then the camera waits till the door shuts till it cuts to the next scene, this gives off the effect that she is now locked in and it doesn't give off a positive vibe. After the door closes it the shot changes to be inside the consultants room and amy walking in and sitting down, for this the camera pans and follows her from the door to the chair. the camera changes to an over the shoulder shot from amy's point of view and looking at Mr Zaidi as the doctor exaplaining how he has the results, then Amy asked if it is bad news, and the image merges into another image of amy putting her head down as he says ' yes its bad news' amy's head drops and the music begins to play, the song we choose was the begining part of Beyonce Knowles 'Halo' as it is all instrumental and is a very sad, harmonal song.

180 Degree Rule

For our preliminary task we have to show that we understand the 180 degree rule.
The 180 degree rule in a guideline in film making that states two characters in the same scene should always have the same left/right relationship to each other. If the camera passes over the imaginary line connecting the two characters, it is called crossing the line. The new shot from the opposite side is called the reverse angle.

Preliminary Task Take One

For my Preliminary Task i am working with Gemma King and Daisy Coates.

We have came up with three ideas:

Idea One ~ A Doctors surgery and reciving some bad news. We will get shots of the patient sitting outside, the doctor holding open the door for them and walking through, then the receiving of the bad news.

Idea Two ~ A police station. We will get shots of someone walking through the doors into the police station and up to the desk and exchanging dialogue with a police officer.

Idea Three ~ Train journey. for this idea we would have some one rushing through the train doors, finding a seat, sitting down and exchanging dialogue with the stranger opposite.

Choosen Idea:

For our chosen idea we decided to go with Idea One, the patient walking into the doctors surgery. We chose this because we thought it offered us the chance to get a wide variety of camera angles and shots including: high shot, low shot, close up, panning and tracking.
